Almost not worth the look. |
 |
Worth a look, but tends to be
difficult to use or navigate. |
 |
About average. Good source of
parts and/or information |
 |
A cut above. Well crafted, a
good experience. |

| Not BaD at all! Great
selection of contemporary and WWII warship kits. Well organized,
online buying, all products I checked have pictures and are well
documented. |

| I spoke at length with
owner, Chuck Morrow. He knows his products and his vendors.
His prices are competitive and his stock extensive. The website has
online buying and direct, secure control of credit purchases. If you
don't see what you want, call, because he stocks much more that he can
display on the web. |

| Hey, its Colpar! Local to the Crew,
we wish we could do more to support our local vendors. Online
buying, with good product pictures. Boat selection is poor, but
materials and accessories selection is good. Help support our
local vendors! |

| Good selection, online buying,
very few product pictures |

| Dave produces THE
premier submarine kits. His designs for sub operating compartments
are the most efficient and cost effective design I've seen. One of
these days, my wife will let me buy one! This site is also a wealth
of information for the model submariner. |

| Outstanding selection of UK
warships. No-frills, no online buying, but great product pictures and
documentation. Located in the UK. |

Reviews |
| I listed this as a
source for your crew. Good selection of Preiser resin cast figures
in several scales. |
| Fleetscale |

| Another great source for UK
warships. Well organized, online buying. Located in the UK. |

| Owner Dave Morrish
is the consummate scale modeler. Prices are reasonable, especially
for those who are looking for accessories, electronics, and kits of the
best quality. Dave knows his stuff and will gladly answer your
questions and make suggestions. His online buying module is offline
for the moment, but believe me, you should call and meet him. |

| They should rename the site to Graupner
US. Good source for those wonderfully engineered
Graupner Z drive, bow thrusters, etc. Well illustrated, online
buying. |

| Good selection, well organized.
Slow to load. Some product pictures. Liked how they suggest |

| Military modeling including
lots of warship fittings from 1/16 to (really!) 1/1200. Great
books/reference material source. |
|
Reviews |
| No-frills site, no online
buying, few product pictures. WEALTH of 1/96 and 1/192 warship
fittings |
 |

| Manufacturer of
fiberglass hulls, some stand alone, some kits. They have an Elco PT
boat hull that is 93" long (24" beam)! I saw several
military hulls that I've never seen anywhere else such as 50' Navy
Swift boat and 110'
W.W.I Subchaser
(both approx 1/36). |

| A MUST for modelers of all

(yet). You can download an order form that you can mail or fax.
These critters look like they're worth the wait. |

| I have a special
place in my heart for 1/12 and 1/24 scale. I'm also fond of the brown
water Navy. Frank DiMeglio has me on both counts.

| Good kit selection, online
buying, most have product pictures. Well organized site once you
find the boat section. |

Reviews |
| Submarine kit mfr
based in the U.K. Good selection of non-U.S. hulls and materials. No
online buying, but there is a submit type form that you can use to do most
of your business. OTW will then phone you to take credit card info and
provide the final price. |

| Looks like good source for static
ships and warships. No online buying, no product pictures. |
 |
Reviews |
| Yep, its the Austrian
manufacturer of modelcraft. Online buying, but US$ are not listed. |

| No big surprise that
cars and aircraft dominate this site, but there are several scratch plans
available as well as some how-to books. Online buying, well
illustrated, professional site. |
 |
Reviews |
| Poor selection. Online
buying. Some boat parts. Poorly organized, no product pictures. |

| If they had online
buying, I'd have rated this one as 5. Professional, well illustrated
site. Hard to find fittings, sound devices, and propulsion.
FABULOUS selection of propellors! When faced with the prospect of
using a Dumas P-O-S transmissions, I found that proprietor, Al, does
machine work and has a good selection of off-the-shelf industrial grade
r/c transmissions. They're a bit pricey, but in 500+ units he has
sold, not one has failed. He produces a well-received submarine
reduction drive. He'll even do custom work for those extra large
4-shaft projects. |

Reviews |
| Hardware and electronics for the submarine
model. Skip Asay is the guy. If he had ridden submarines, he'd
have been an 'A ganger' (its a good thing, Skip). Some kits, but everything
the scratch builder would need to become a Raider of the Deep! |
 |
Reviews |
| A MUST for the scale warship builder. Vast
line of scale warship fittings and hulls. No online buying - you
must order the paper catalog. Lee explained that credit fraud became
too much of a problem. Call your order it - its worth it. |

| The most beautiful steam engines and
accessories, but a bit rich for my blood. Didn't realize it at the
time, but I read every word on the site. A must see! |

| In the UK. Good selection, online buying.
Most selections are well described and illustrated. |

| I bought my first
kit here. Excellent selection, online buying. They're doing a
better job of providing product pictures and descriptions. Well
organized, cross indexed, and good search features. Other e-commerce
sites should look here for information on how to run an online store! |

| I'm a submarine vet,
so subs are near and dear to my heart. Thor is relatively new on the
scene, but already has made his mark on the modeling scene. Well done
site with excellent product illustrations and online buying.
